The summer is almost over, and as my gig teaching art for a performing arts camp ends, I am reminded of why I became a teacher... To create beautiful artwork and share my love for art with the rest of the world. I have seen many of my students transform into confident artists and performers over the last 9 weeks. I really couldn't be more proud of them and I hope they continue to pursue and develop a lifelong love of the arts.
This was the very first time I have taken on set design and building. Overall, I was happy with the outcome and the kids were incredibly excited to have a backdrop that lit up. Two full weeks of building, painting, and sewing paid off.
But next time I allow my students to help me paint, I'll make sure that they are painting straight lines, A few of my bricks came out a little wonky! :)
